Our meetings...
With few exceptions, held on the second Sunday of the month at the R. S. Barnwell Memorial Garden and Art Center located at 601 Clyde Fant Parkway in Shreveport, Louisiana.
A society awards banquet held in various area restaurants replaces the regular monthly meeting in January. Our annual picnic/auction held in October is also in place of the regular meeting held at the Barnwell Center.
A program is presented during most monthly meetings by growers from all parts of the country, and our own members as well. Speakers frequently bring plants for sale.
Members bring blooming plants to our meetings each month for an informal judging, and occasionally divisions or plants from their collections for sale.
In addition to the business meeting, program presentation, and flower judging, we also have a refreshment break and plant raffle.
Visitors are welcome and encouraged to come early for the flowers displayed in a congenial, relaxing, informal atmosphere.
